A QUICK LOOK AT SOME OF OUR MOST RECENT REVIEWS (UPDATED 1/27/2023)
Bears Don’t Cry! (Emma Chichester Clark): Booklist: “Both the text and the art encourage empathy for the bighearted but vulnerable bear, while suggesting the importance of speaking up for someone in distress. The story unfolds in a smooth-flowing narrative, while the lively illustrations make the most of the contrast between small, feisty Clementine and her large but insecure friend. A heartening picture book.”
I Did See a Mammoth (Alex Willmore): (Jamie Bills):“This book surprised me and made me laugh. Super delightful read.”
Inventions of the USA (Carron Brown, Giordano Poloni): Stories with Jojo: “[M]ay spark an interest for those with curious minds!”
Kid Engineer: Working with Machines (Sonya Newland, Diego Vaisberg): Archimedes’ Notebook: “[I]ntroduces young readers to the concepts of work, force, and movement and the idea that they could be an engineer. Then it explains how simple machines work (levers, pulleys, axles, etc.) and includes a hands-on activity to explore each type of machine.” Millie-Mae Through the Seasons and Millie-Mae Loves to Play (Natalie Marshall): Oh, the Books We Love!: "There are 4 short stories in each book so we get to explore the different environments Millie-Mae visits alongside her! ... I don’t know what it is about Millie Mae, but I just adore her!"
Nibbles: The Bedtime Book (Emma Yarlett): Jamie Bills: “What do we love about Nibbles? … He is interactive, unpredictable, monsterly-adorable, and he always makes us laugh.”
