Gusti's website

Gusti was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where he studied graphic arts. He has published over 25 books, many of which have been translated into foreign languages. An award-winning illustrator, he has received the Golden Apple in Bratislava, the Lazarillo prize for illustration (twice), the Edelvives prize, and an honorary degree from the Latin American Prize for illustration, IBBY.

In Half of an Elephant, Gusti used digital images of numerous discarded objects "to show children that art can be created from objects that usually end up in the garbage can."
