InkPad Press - A New Publishing Imprint
Chicago, November 14, 2011: Demibooks, Inc. (demibooks.com), a Chicago-based leading digital publishing technologies company, announces the launch of InkPad Press, a new publishing imprint. InkPad Press (inkpadpress.com) is a joint venture of Demibooks and Kane Miller, a division of EDC Publishing (kanemiller.com). Beginning early 2012, InkPad Press plans to publish a wide range of quality children's books across all media, specializing in print and book apps on the iPad.
In addition to Kane Miller's traditional sources for content from around the world, InkPad Press will select the very best of the crowd-sourced content built on Composer platform and give authors an opportunity to publish as a bundled package containing an interactive book app along with a print book.
Kira Lynn, Publisher of Kane Miller Books, says, "InkPad Press is the result of our common vision to enrich the lives and imaginations of children through great stories told through words, illustrations and interactive media. We plan to realize that vision through the combination of Demibook's technology and Kane Miller's years of experience in publishing children's books."
Demibooks CEO Rafiq Ahmed adds, "We created Composer platform to enable anyone to easily create interactive books without having to write a single line of code. This removes a significant barrier to entry for many. However, the challenge to reach the audience remains. InkPad Press creates a new avenue for content creators to submit their work through Composer platform for review and possible publication with Inkpad Press."
